RENU TRAINING ACADEMY
Training Academy Patient / Delegate Model Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking your Training Academy appointment.
Renu Training Academy provides practical, supervised training for appropriately qualified healthcare professionals. Training Academy patients/delegate models allow delegates to develop their practical clinical skills by carrying out genuine treatments under the direct supervision of an experienced trainer.
Your safety, dignity and clinical wellbeing remain our priority throughout the appointment.
By paying your booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Your Training Academy Appointment
Your appointment is a Training Academy practical training appointment.
The treatment will be carried out by a suitably qualified healthcare professional who is undertaking practical training.
The delegate will perform the treatment under the direct supervision of the Academy trainer at all times.
The trainer will supervise the clinical assessment, treatment and decision-making and may provide instruction, guidance or intervene where clinically appropriate.
You understand that the trainer will not personally be carrying out the injections.
By booking a Training Academy appointment, you are specifically agreeing to receive your treatment from a delegate under direct professional supervision.
2. One-to-One Training and Privacy
Renu Training Academy operates on a one-to-one trainer-to-delegate basis.
Your treatment will take place in a private treatment room.
You will not be treated in an open classroom environment and other patients or delegates will not be present in your treatment room.
Your privacy and dignity will be maintained throughout the appointment.
3. Appointment Duration
Training Academy appointments can occasionally take slightly longer than a standard clinic appointment because the delegate is receiving practical instruction, guidance and assessment during the procedure.
Although we aim to complete appointments within the advertised appointment time, you should allow additional time.
An appointment may occasionally overrun by approximately 30 minutes.
We will always endeavour to keep any additional waiting or treatment time to a minimum.
Please do not book your appointment immediately before another commitment where a precise finishing time is essential.
4. Treatment Provided
You will receive the treatment specifically advertised and booked for the Training Academy session.
Where your treatment involves botulinum toxin, the number of units administered will be the same as would ordinarily be used for that treatment in a full-paying clinic appointment, subject to your individual clinical assessment and the trainer’s clinical judgement.
Being a Training Academy patient/delegate model does not mean that you receive a reduced dose, or an inferior treatment.
The principal difference is that the treatment is performed by the trained delegate rather than personally by the Academy trainer.
All treatment remains subject to appropriate clinical assessment and professional judgement.
5. Clinical Assessment and Right to Decline Treatment
You will be required to complete the appropriate medical history and clinical assessment before treatment.
The trainer will ask youth submit a. series of photos to make sure you are suitable for the intended treatment. Please send the photos before you book. If you book a treatment slot without your photos being submitted and approved there may be an admin fee charged for refunding your booking fee.Once our Nurse has reviewed and approved you may then book the appointment.
The Academy reserves the right to decline, modify or postpone treatment where treatment is considered clinically unsuitable or unsafe.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- a change in your medical history;
- a new medication or contraindication;
- an active infection or skin condition;
- unrealistic or inappropriate treatment expectations;
- previous treatment which affects suitability;
- an increased risk of complications; or
- any other circumstance where the trainer considers treatment should not proceed.
The trainer’s clinical decision regarding whether treatment is appropriate is final.
Change in Medical History After Booking
If, after booking your Training Academy appointment, there is a change to your medical history, medication, health or circumstances which means that you are no longer clinically suitable for the treatment, you must inform the clinic as soon as possible and before attending your appointment.
Your suitability for treatment will be reassessed by the trainer and/or an appropriately qualified clinician.
If you are deemed clinically unsuitable for the booked treatment because of a change in your medical circumstances, the Academy will not proceed with treatment.
Where this occurs, your booking fee will not be refunded, as the appointment has been specifically reserved for you and forms part of a scheduled Training Academy session.
However, where clinically appropriate, the Academy may offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to a future Training Academy date, once you are medically suitable to undergo the treatment,
Where treatment cannot proceed for clinical reasons, the appropriate options will be discussed with you.
6. Treatment Is Limited to the Treatment Booked
Your Training Academy appointment is specifically allocated to the treatment advertised and booked.
Additional treatments or treatment areas cannot be added on the day.
You cannot request another treatment because you are already attending the clinic.
This is because each training day has a specific treatment, training objective, delegate and allocated appointment time.
If you are interested in another treatment, this can be discussed separately during normal clinic times and booked for another appropriate appointment.
7. Treatment Reviews
Training Academy appointments do not include a cosmetic review appointment.
A review will be arranged where there is a clinical need, concern or complication requiring assessment.
Where a clinical review is required, the trainer/clinic will arrange a designated date and time with you.
You should not assume that a routine cosmetic review will be provided following your Training Academy treatment.
If you have a concern following treatment, you should contact the clinic promptly so that the appropriate advice can be provided.
8. Clinical Photography and Records
As part of your Training Academy appointment, clinical photographs will be taken before and/or after treatment where appropriate.
These photographs form part of your clinical documentation and may be used for legitimate clinical purposes including:
- documenting your treatment;
- maintaining your clinical record;
- monitoring treatment outcomes;
- clinical audit;
- quality assurance;
- service improvement;
- professional training and education; and
- clinical governance.
Clinical photographs will be stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation and the clinic’s Privacy Policy.
Clinical photography for your healthcare record is separate from consent for marketing use.
9. Marketing Photography and Video
If Renu Skin Clinic or Renu Training Academy wishes to use your photographs, video or other identifiable material for:
- social media;
- the clinic or Academy website;
- advertising;
- promotional material;
- educational marketing;
- printed marketing; or
- other promotional purposes,
you will be asked to provide separate and specific consent.
Marketing consent is entirely optional.
Choosing not to provide marketing consent will not affect your ability to receive your Training Academy treatment.
Your clinical treatment and clinical record are not conditional upon agreeing to marketing use.
10. Educational and Training Use
You understand that your appointment forms part of a professional practical training environment.
Clinical information, treatment photographs and outcomes may be used appropriately for legitimate clinical education, training, clinical governance, audit and quality-improvement purposes in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
Where separate consent is required for identifiable use outside your clinical care, this will be obtained separately.
11. Your Responsibilities
As a Training Academy patient/delegate model, you agree to:
- provide accurate and complete medical information;
- inform the clinic of any changes to your health or medication;
- disclose relevant previous aesthetic treatments;
- follow all pre-treatment instructions;
- attend at the agreed appointment time;
- provide adequate notice if you cannot attend;
- follow the aftercare instructions provided;
- contact the clinic promptly if you have a clinical concern following treatment.
Failure to provide accurate or complete information may affect your suitability for treatment and may increase the risk of complications.
12. Booking Fee
A booking fee is required to secure your Training Academy appointment.
Training Academy appointments are specifically allocated to a particular training date, treatment and delegate.
Once your booking fee has been paid, the appointment is reserved specifically for you and cannot be offered to another patient at short notice.
The booking fee:
- is not transferable to another person;
- cannot be exchanged for another treatment;
- cannot be transferred to a standard/non-training clinic appointment; and
- is subject to the cancellation and rescheduling provisions below.
The clinic will always respect any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Cancellation and Rescheduling
We understand that circumstances can change.
If you are unable to attend your Training Academy appointment, you must provide at least 7 days’ notice.
Where at least 7 days’ notice is provided, we will allow your booking to be transferred to another suitable Training Academy training date, subject to availability.
The transferred appointment must remain a Training Academy appointment and cannot be transferred to a standard clinic treatment.
Where less than 7 days’ notice is provided, the booking fee will be forfeited and the appointment will not be transferable.
If you fail to attend your appointment without providing the required notice, the full cost will be forfeited.
This policy is necessary because Training Academy appointments are arranged around specific training dates, delegates and treatment plans and a late cancellation will prevent the Academy from replacing the patient/delegate model.
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
14. Transfer to Another Person
Your Training Academy appointment is personal to you.
Your appointment or booking fee cannot be transferred to a friend, family member or another patient.
Every Training Academy patient must independently complete the required medical screening, clinical assessment and consent process.
15. Changes or Cancellation by the Academy
On rare occasions, the Academy may need to change or postpone a training date because of circumstances including trainer availability, delegate requirements, clinical considerations or circumstances outside the Academy’s reasonable control.
Where this occurs, we will endeavour to offer you an alternative suitable Training Academy date.
16. Treatment Risks and Expected Results
All aesthetic treatments carry potential risks, side effects and complications.
You will receive treatment-specific information regarding the expected benefits, possible side effects, risks and complications before treatment.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns before providing clinical consent.
No aesthetic treatment can guarantee a particular result.
Individual responses vary according to factors including anatomy, muscle activity, previous treatment, skin characteristics, metabolism and other individual factors.
17. No Guarantee of Cosmetic Outcome
By booking a Training Academy appointment, you acknowledge that there is no guarantee of a particular cosmetic outcome.
The fact that you have received treatment as a Training Academy patient/delegate model does not entitle you to additional treatment solely because you are dissatisfied with the cosmetic result.
Any additional treatment will be considered on an individual clinical basis and may incur a separate charge.
18. Supervised Training Environment
You understand that the delegate may take longer to perform the procedure because they are developing and demonstrating their practical skills.
The trainer may:
- provide verbal instruction;
- demonstrate techniques;
- pause the procedure;
- assess the delegate’s technique;
- provide corrective guidance;
- change the treatment approach where clinically appropriate; or
- intervene directly if required for patient safety.
These are normal and expected aspects of a supervised practical training appointment.
19. Clinical Concerns Following Treatment
If you have a concern following treatment, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.
Where the trainer considers that a clinical assessment is required, an appropriate review will be arranged.
If you experience an urgent or potentially serious medical problem, you should seek appropriate urgent medical attention and notify the clinic as soon as reasonably practicable.
20. Questions Before Booking
Please ensure that you understand what a Training Academy appointment involves before paying your booking fee.
If you have any questions about:
- the treatment;
- the product;
- the amount of treatment provided;
- the fact that a delegate will perform your treatment;
- supervision;
- photography;
- clinical records;
- marketing consent;
